BodyTrace Troubleshoot Blood Pressure Device

Common Issues

Please use this article for reference if a patient is having issues with their blood pressure device. If you are looking for instructions on how to use the device, please visit this article. This digital blood pressure monitor was designed to measure the blood pressure and heartbeat rate of adults with an arm circumference of 22 - 42 cm (9 - 17 inches). This device is intended for indoor, home use.

The most common issues are:

  • Bad cell service
  • Blood pressure cuff is too tight 

The most common ways to fix these issues:

  • Have patient move closer to a window and take a reading
  • Loosen the blood pressure cuff
  • Take the batteries out and insert back into device to restart 

Device Error Codes

The device will give an error code if something is wrong with a reading. Please ask the patient for which Error Code appeared on the device and find the corresponding code below. 

Er 1

  • Issue - Battery low 
  • Solution - Replace batteries with four Duracell AAs.

Er 2

  • Issue - Movement detected 
  • Solution - Avoid moving or talking while taking a measurement. After securing the cuff and assuming the correct posture, consider waiting for five minutes to settle down before starting a measurement.

Er 3

  • Issue - Measurement out of range  
  • Solution - Confirm that the cuff is secured correctly on your exposed arm. Remove all clothing and jewelry from your arm. If you feel unwell, contact a medical professional.

Er 4

  • Issue - No cellular coverage
  • Solution - Move to another area, closer to a window. Use the device at a location where you get a strong cellular signal with your mobile phone.

Er 5

  • Issue - Cellular connection error
  • Solution - Move to another area, closer to a window. Use the device at a location where you get a strong cellular connection with your mobile phone. 

Er 6

  • Issue - Data transmission error
  • Solution - Move to another area, closer to a window. Use the device at a location where you get a strong cellular connection with your mobile phone. 

Er 7 

  • Issue - Internal error
  • Solution - Replace batteries with four Duracell AAs. If issue persists, contact customer support. 

Er 8 & Er 9 

  • Issue - Provisioning error
  • Solution - Retake measurement. If issue persists, contact customer support. 

Er 10 & Er 11

  • Issue - Subscription suspended
  • Solution - Contact customer support. 

Er 15 - Er 24

  • Issue - System error
  • Solution - Contact customer support.
